Hey guys

I just build a new Rig ( Pics to come soon)

Case - Zalman FC-ZE1 Black Aluminium Fatal1ty Champion Gaming Case - No PSU

Mobo - P5N32-E Sli Plus

CPU - Intel Core Quad Q6600 2.4GHZ Go ( Overclockable )

Graphics Cards - 2X Inno3d Nvidia 8800 GTS 512MB with G92 Core Running in Sli

Ram - OCZ 4GB Kit (2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 Memory NVIDIA SLI READY EDITION CL5

PSU - Coolermaster RealPower 850W Modular PSU

CPU Cooler - Zalman CNPS9500A-LED Aero Flower Socket 478/775/AM2/754/939/940 Cooler

Windows Vista Ultimate X86 32 Bit

I Run 3DMark06

3DMark Score 12683

SM 2.0 Score 4696

HDR/SM 3.0 Score 6410

CPU Score 3406

I would like to know first of all if this are good scores?

Second if their is any need to Overclock?

And if I will gain more poinst by Overclocking the CPU as well as the GPU

And how to do it?

The CPU on Idle is Runing at 30 C

Thanks

Firstly you need a serious read of this section http://forum.overclock3d.net/forumdisplay.php?f=29

.. and there is alot to read, so make some coffee or something.

After that, you see what you understand & don`t, and the guyz can assist you from there.

12.7k in 3dmark06 aint good, seriously seriously aint good with all that kit. Minimal oc`ing I want more than 15k.

you wont get more than 3ghz out of that mobo mate,I have a very simillar set-up,and after a lot of searching have found that this board is not very good with quads.

I hit 13k with a single 8800gt so like rast says 15 should be do-able

What BIOS are you running on your mobo? I've got two 8800 GTS 512 in SLI and a Q6600 G0 clocked at 3,6 (on this benchtest) and a Asus P5N-T Deluxe, and got 19492 points. Now, at stock settings I get a little under 17000 points, so your score seems weird to me. It could maybe be the memory, but I can't say for sure. What's your CPU-score on stock? It should be a little over 4000.

Are you using water cooling?

Nope, I'm on air, using the Tuniq Tower 120. :) Will maybe go over to water when I get enough money. As for now I'll be building a new rig instead, so it will have to wait.

Now, even with the newest BIOS, I don't think your score will increase. It'll probably just allow better support for your components, and maybe allow you to OC your CPU even more.

Oh, I didn't see what OS he was running, and I kinda took it for granted that he ran XP. :P

Now, what BIOS were you upgrading for anyway? By the look of it, you could write a book about bugfixes from the BIOS-history of that mobo. ;)

the 1002 bios is a bit hit and miss, some people have good o/c with it but a lot dont(and its hard work to get back to an old bios after you have had the 1002)

Oh, and btw, keep in mind that the 1002 BIOS is a beta version, so the most updated stable one would seem to be 0901.

I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate, because I want to Run Crysis with direct 10X, and only you can do that with windows Vista, according to some articles I have read.

Can someone please show me how to overclock my PC?

The MObo and CPU both run Idle at 30C

I think thats good with the nice airflow I have got.

So I should be able to put the CPu at 3.2 GHZ

and then after that I would like to find out how to overclock the Nvidia cards if possible.

If someone knows how to OC Q6600 2.4GHZ GO to 3.2GHZ

That would be good

and also I really have no idea how this Sli really works

Its runing in Sli Mode, I have set that up.

but when I was checking with everest and Cpu-Z

Only shows that 1 nvidia card at 512mb

should be 2 Nvidia cards at 1GB Ram

the Vista does in fact detect both, so not sure how exactly I take advantage of this sli feature in games.

Anyways if someone can help me with OC, my CPU first than the Nvidia Cards.

I do not have water cooling just because I have no idea how to do that.

Thanks

Well i get 12000 3d marks with my system, one old 8800GTS 640mb and q6600 @ 3.0Ghz..

It should be as simple as going into the bios, setting the vcore to 1.3 then multi at 9 and upping the FSB to around 330
