set up RAID for different chipsets?

If I had more than one partition on a RAID, each RAID set up on a different chipset (ICH and nV) could I move my disk setup between boards?

I think no, but another opinion (saying its ok!) would be nice..dont wanna have to stick to single disks for benching

My thinking is that each chipset would need to have its own RAID created and RAID setup insists that....DAMN

I`ve just answered my own question.

RAID setup insists on wiping the disks, so previous RAID information would be wiped :(

If only they did an i-ram type of thingy that was big enough and man enough to safely hold onto 2 OS's - sorted.

On a positive - we should start to see the new hybrid drives early next year - thhe Samsung Roadmap had February 07 as it launch date....... here's hoping.
