Seb's Sandy Bridge-E Rig

I lost my old account and didn't post up any of my pics/rig anyway so thought I may as well shove it all up here too!

Some is copy/pasted as there's no way I'm writing this beast up again from scratch.

Put together in December of last year but has evolved since, the longer you go down the post, the closer it gets to what it is now.

Spec is currently as follows:

Cooler Master HAF X (2x200m top, 1x200m side, 1x200m front, 1x140mm back)
Corsair HX1050W
Gigabyte X79-UD5
Intel i7 3930K & Corsair H100 (Push/Pull with 4x bequiet Shadow Wings)
4 x 4GB Corsair Vengeance 1866Mhz
2 x 256GB Crucial m4 in RAID0 (455GB total)
500GB WD Caviar (Games & Steam Backup)
500GB WD Caviar (Documents & Other Backup)
1TB Seagate Barracuda - Full & ISO Backups
2 x Palit Jetstream 4GB GTX 680 (SLI)
2 x Sony DVDRW Drives (no need for bluray as I use the TV for that)
3 x iiyama 24" (5760 x 1080)
Razer Naga Epic
Logitech G510
Logitech X530 5.1 surround system
Plantronics GAMECOM 777 Headset

The Build

So, the pics mostly speak for themselves in the build process:

And then something broke, had a few issues, sent some bits back to Aria, but more of my gear was needed for testing as they couldn't pinpoint the problem, queue me getting in the car...

Out it came

Also had a change of heart, the OCZ was only a few weeks old, but decided if I was going SLI with the new cards next year as well, stepping up to this would be a better idea:

Everything went back together ok (minus the Gigabyte 570) and in the meantime this arrived:

FANS!! FANS!!

FANS EVERYWHERE?!?!

MOAR!!

Bit loud is it?

And do you really need push/push/pull on an H100?

Fans everywhere indeed! The four large ones are very quiet, the beQuiet are too, the loudest one is the rear exhaust.

As for whether I need push/pull, probably not, but it means I can lower the fan speeds and still get decent temps. As with everything hobby-related, it's never about needing :)

I tend to lurk rather than post, but I should add a few updates to the rig.

At the moment, the HAF X is still around but looking at going to a Corsair 540 at some point.

SSD is now a single 750GB Samsung 840 EVO
GPUs are SLI Titans
Most of the mech drives are gone

I will take some better pics at some point.

No personally set ramdisk no. It's just a 'quirk' of the RAPID feature in Samsung Magician software, it does create an 'uncontrollable' ramdisk of its own that it will read/write from. Up to 1GB or so I think.
