I'm replacing my ATI x800 GTO2 card with an Nvidia 7950GT to allow 3840 x 1024 resolution with a Triplehead2Go adaptor, anyone have any tips to clear the ATI files without a rebuild?

reboot (safe mode maybe)

driver cleaner

reboot

install new card

reboot

install new drivers

do that in exactly that order and u shouldnt have any problems.

Yep, Driver Cleaner does exactly what it says on the tin. Works well for removing both video and sound card drivers (so make sure you choose the correct option ).
