repairing stripped thread

h80i was fitted in shop, now it needs to be re-seated and best part is 2 of the threads that mount the h80i are stripped clean, and one of the screws is different
Ideas on how to get something for screws to grip onto? not too keen on anything that will make it permanently mounted

This is normal with Corsairs AIO's as they use a cheap metal for the radiator casing to cut costs, I've seen this with a previous H100i I had and the threads were stripped after 1 use and I only ever finger tightened them.

Then the Corsair defense brigade started crying at me "Whaaaaaaaa you must of tightened it too hard whaaaaaaaaa Corsair never fail Whaaaaaaaaaa".

Best bet is to RMA if possible.

You will need larger screws if you re-thread the hole with a tap and die though.

i guess i'd be making the fan holes bigger at the same time. i know how to tap and die, dont have the gear for it tho
If i wanted to RMA the h80i i'd have to ask the guy at the shop to do it, since i didnt get any of the fookin details from him slacko. in corsairs defence, he's screwed up my hardrive threads before.

Locktite makes a product intended to "glue" screws in place and prevent them from coming loose. if the thread is not completely stripped this could be a quick fix. This is not pemanent as the compound will give with enough pressure. This may be easier than a rethread.
However as above the best bet may be RMA

as dodgy as it may sound, this appeals to me the most. i just need the screws to hold with a bit of pressure, or even just stay in their damn holes. the other two are doing a fair job of supporting, and if they stay in their hole theyre supporting the weight too, tight or not.

Just don't go to him again, Order the stuff yourself and build it yourself, Aint rocket science bud
