Swapped out the 2600K with the 3770K @ 4.8ghz, added maybe another 5000PPD, (Except the wifes brother is back from college and staying with us, and gaming on it all day) I wanted to hit 100,000PPD a few more times this last month but WU's aren't cooperating.
I'm 90% sure I can get this 3770K at 5Ghz stable. I popped the IHS off and doing direct die contact with the water block but the die is convex. Depending on block placement I get 2 or 3 cores at 72C full load, and 2 or 1 at 82C, re-positioning the block and the results switch vice versa. This is with LinX linpack, folding doesn't push the temps on any core past 68C so I'm content with leaving it. I debate lapping the core, I did numerous A64's but those dies were larger and more square, this Ivy Bridge is very rectangle and small. It's harder to keep and even pressure.
