Was a really good read but i was told on here that the top limit for my cpu (same used in the oc article q9550) was 1.38v? They have it waaaay above that???

Any thoughts folks cos i thought i was at my limit lol

Totally depends on cooling, but for a 45nm I've limited myself to 1.45v on air/water cooling. Probably could go higher, but with 4.5ghz in the bag, I dont really need to.

Lucky bugger. My motherboard overheats with anything above 333fsb :(

Well my old watercooling (thermaltake radiators...) I was running 1.45v and didn't overheat, so should be safe. You seems to have good cooling so keep em going if it means higher clocks!

will have a play, anyone have any tips on a EVGA 790I what sort of max clock speed can I expect (stable)

1.45v is max but safe right??

For 24/7 running, listen to them, might keep the warranty in tact or stop degeneration (right word?) but for benching going a little crazy is fine, you have a £90 radiator... use it to the full potential, give it some heat!
