Hi,

Just finished building my friends computer and was in the progress installing Windows 7 but everytime i select to boot from disc it say "Reboot and select proper boot device" the disc is bootable as i was successful to boot window 7 on my pc. Any help is much appreciate.

Does the BIOS see the DVD drive? Are you getting the "press any key to boot from DVD" prompt? Does it try to access the DVD drive at all (does the access light blink)?

I had something similar, my DVD External Drive comes up in the BIOS as two things-one is UEFI and one is not (as in a prefix). Trying to boot up the UEFI one didn't work, but the non-UEFI one did.

Or wait, is this to carry on the installation? In which case disconnect the DVD drive-or set it to a low boot priority, with Windows boot manager and the HDD above it- and let Windows boot up the Hard Disk, and carry on the install.
