They're making the black edition i was hoping this would happen, if any of you know who Paul Tan is, he is the only person with one.

The new one also looks a tad different though if you look at the heatsinks design and the audio part. Must be more expensive as well...

Was kind of hoping to see more 2011 motherboards come out with the new Ivy-E line up tbh. There aren't an awful lot and some are quite lacking.

Must admit that this board looks really good but they still left some red accents on there which would still ruin any different colour scheme than red. Especially since they're all LEDs and not things that you can paint over/ cover up.

Tbh, I think the MSI G45 Plus look better even though it's not as good:

No, that one was made for Paul Tan to use in one of his build. These ones are for retail

i actually love that! it looks better designed and slightly more 'beefy' im sure Tom has one on the way to him

Other black/grey X79 boards that I think look really good are the Gigabyte UD3 and UP4.

Does anyone know if more new 2011 boards will be coming out soon?

There wont be a new range its still the X79 chipset and theres not much they can really do. Its not worth calling it the '5' till there is a new chipset or massive changes needing to be done.

im not upgrading till the true successor to x79 is out anyway. but this board is lush. also built in ac wifi. pretty nifty

There wont be one for a long time. Thats new CPU's and new chipset, youve probably got at least a year to wait if not longer.

but damn it all I want a Black and Blue Rampage board I know its silly for just one person but I think Blue and Black RAMPAGE logos look great and my blue and black loop and system looks stupid with RED PCI-e/expansion slots and SATA ports

Dear Republic of Gamers consider blue and black even on a limited edition board I'd buy it just to replace the Red and Black board I already have.

The Rampage II and Rampage III were both X58, there were plenty of whispers around the internet there would be a Rampage V and Asus didn't straight out dismiss them and now its pretty obvious why.

Had there been a Rampage V Formula I would of been very interested in going to 2011. I still am as there's obviously no problems with the IV it just takes the edge off it getting an old piece of hardware after all that money, I should probably stick for a while longer but it's a long wait until HW-E.

Aye I know that buddy. Im still happy with my 3930k. I think my 670 ftw sli setup is gonna start showing its age soon at 1440. So then I will prob retire everything and start anew. Happy days

The 3 was the first black and red rog....... Ive got all of the rampages they have ever made.

Ive actually got the ONLY blue RE3 ever made.

I honestly don't like the look of it, but I can see why some would like it because it means they don't have the motherboard dictating the colour scheme of the pc.

Motherboards are starting to look darn good these days.

Just need to start painting and cleaning up the rear I/O - Don't know whether they use bare metal for some sort of grounding purpose against the case though....

This board looks great! I think it wont be long until asus makes a 2011 board with a rog armor like the maximus VI formula. Maybe a Rampage IV Formula Black Edition. Now that would be one sexy mobo.
