RAID 0 / Reinstalling Windows Question

I'm running Win7 Pro 64-bit on an SSD with 2 1TB HDDs in RAID 0 (not using dedicated hardware).

For an unknown reason I was unable to start up Win7 on my Desktop a few days ago. It would get to where login screen should be and start flickering between a black screen and login bg, with cursor rapidly going from eggtimer to cursor+eggtimer (done this w/o the login bg when trying to boot into safemode).

I have tried repairing with repair disc and install disc (I'm using the £30 Student DL) but none of the options worked and I didn't have any restore points or backup images to recovery from, so I'm left with reinstalling.

I can recover my SSD via a Ubuntu livecd, however it is unable to see the RAID.

Would I be able to install windows and see the RAID'ed drives again? Or is there something I need to do before/after installing windows onto my SSD. I'm planning on copying everything over to a 1 TB external and then formatting the RAID and reinstalling windows (unless I can backup and format the RAID using Audit Mode).

Slightly related: When reinstalling I want to move my appdata etc over to my HDDs (I'm only using a 30GB SSD, and currently it has around 7GB free), is this a good guide to follow? And just to check is this everything I need to do after installation?

how are your hdd's raided you say not using dedicated hardware! If you are using windows raid then I'm afraid its lost if you are using the mobos raid then it should still be intact upon reinstall. As far as moving apps I cant help as if I want something changed I normally just reinstall it with a fresh install. Way back in the day I used to try and move things and it always fubared on me so I gave up lol.

Oops, I meant as in I'm not using a PCI RAID controller. Right after post (or when entering bios) I get a screen appear with info on the drives/which are in raid, does that mean it's mobo raid?

yes it does you should be good to go. I just last night ( LOL ) reinstalled because i used windows raid and was like damn now I want to try something else now I will lose all my storage stuff.
