R6300 Decisions

We currently have a Belkin modem/router N+ but we have problems with DNS error and communications to the router over several months, so we got a new router the Net-gear R6300 but didn't realise it doesn't have the modem inbuilt (I know stupid mistake). So we can either try and sell it or buy a modem and try to see if we can get the R6300 to work, but there is hardly any good modem choices here (AU). Any ideas?

The R6300 is a great router my friend, it's worth giving it a go and setting it up. You can quickly and easily by using just a standard DSL Modem either from Netgear themselves or even D-Link.

I think the R6300 boast that it has the fastest WiFi in the world, with that said, to reach them speed you would need to purchase the new 5GhzAC adapter, to be able to reach the kind of speeds it promises.

With that said here are a couple of links below to a couple of modems which will get you up and running in no time.

DLink: http://www.dlink.com/uk/en/home-solutions/connect/modems-and-gateways/dsl-320b-adsl-2-ethernet-modem

Netgear: http://www.netgear.co.uk/home/products/wired-routers-and-modems/wired-modems/DM111PSP.aspx

And just encase you're interest in getting the full speed from your R6300 to your computer you would need one of these.

A6200 WiFi USB Adapter - 802.11ac Dual Band: http://www.netgear.co.uk/home/products/wireless-adapters/ultimate-wireless-adapters/A6200.aspx

Hope this helps mate
