QX6700 cheap(ish) watercooling?

Er... sorry about that canon one :P It is a good piece and I play it on the piano, I was doing 2 things at once and pasted the wrong thing!

I see the Noctua NF-P12 is very quiet.

I won't be doing any extreme overclocking so thanks soapsupah that looks great so I'll get one of them wether I use water cooling or not.

So looking at what moogle said I think that for the compromise between noise and overclocking, I would be happier with low noise and slightly less overclocking - I just don't want to waste this CPU.

So, taking moogle's advice
Like above, either get a decent watercooling setup or just get some good aircooling.
and the information you have given me in the last few posts, maybe it would be a good idea to get some decent air cooling fans.

I like the idea of watercooling, but only high end systems would be quiet, and then I might have to use external mounting, and end up costing loads more - and might not even be able to overclock that much.

Now that I am probably going to get air cooling - are they any silent but effective fans?

That Noctua U12P thingy (Not exact name) is a CPU cooler that comes with 2 Noctua fans (Very silent fans with decent airflow) and is a high performer.

Here's a link

That would be the best cooler I think and it's only £50 including fans. Check the review.

Please keep in mind that the normal NH-U12P heatsink only comes with one fan. The SE1366 version comes with two. Not really a problem as the sink was tested with its bundled fan but just to save you the disappointment.

Or at least that's what I understood when reading the review :)

Wow that looks great, very quiet. So I could get a NH-U12P and 1 NF-P12 for the case rear.

Do they do any silent 80mm fans?

I believe the NF-P12's are also available in 80mm size :) You should take a look at TTL's clearout in the FS section, I believe he has at least one for sale.

sadly they have only 90mm fans, but still pretty silent

Can you post me a link ^^ ?

I have some case fans now 80mm, cheap but quiet and very effective actually. But I still need some case fans and some 2-3pin connectors
