hey guys just had mom on the line telling me her pcs broke so went round.

press power button and you hear one of the fans spining at max rpm (didnt use to spin on boot so fast)

the problem is its a hp touch screen all in one dealio and its like fort knox to get inside

the screen gets power as you can hear the reconition when you touch it but there is no boot upscreen

just stays black and fan spining like a hippy on crack.

we have had problems with it befor having its wireless card stop working (ie isnt registering its there)

just wondering if theres something simple i could try or do i just give her my old rig and save my self the hassle of hp fort knox

got a funny feeling there is a on going hardware problem

Totally non user servicable. You will likely break it trying to get in. Usually when the fan whirrs up like that and doesn't settle back down there is a GPU problem.

Good old everything on one board FTL.

Actually sounds more like a ram issue. Dont try and fix it yourself unless its out of waranty.

Also dont try repairing it unless you are completely happy with stripping something like a laptop, the fact you are asking questions about it tells me really that you should leave it well alone!

lol well i think it would probley be cheaper adding a new hdd and windows7 to my build than getting the hp fixed profeshionaly.

btw iv striped a laptop befor :P and sprayed it with the most hidious paint scheme iv ever done .... dear old mom wanted a urban/pink camo laptop might have to try and fish it out and show u guys if you want :P

Urban pink camo - Yum! Yeah if it's cheaper to add a new HDD and windows to an older rig I'd do that personally, but I'm a whoose with things I don't have a good grasp on.

lol i just had another look at it the thing is like 2 tons heavy swear to god and you have to like balance it on your lap because you cant take the screen off to get to the base screws retarded design really cant be arsed with it :P going to spend extra 200 odd quid on windows 7 hdd and get my self a blu ray
