Question about RAID.

If my rig has a 240GB boot SSD and a 1TB mass storage HDD, would I be able to take a 1.5TB HDD and RAID is so that it mirrors the information on both the SSD and mass storage HDD? Effectively an automatic back-up drive?

Or would I have to buy two separate drives?

You 'can' raid any drives ie an ssd and a hdd together the array will run as fast as the slowest drive and by limited in size to the size of the smallest drive*2 or (*1 for raid0). You would be best just using the drives normally and use robocpy(windows).

No you wouldn't, and if you would make it in anyway you SSD would slow down ...

you wont be good doing what you say, but you could grab some backup software and set automatic backups of those drives (for example at night).
