Question about leaving eBay feedback

Ok so I have a bit of a dilemna and need some opinions.

One of the Wii's I had bought on eBay was mass advertised as shipping wednesday for friday delivery, and I paid for that delivery too ($60!). I got the tracking number for the item and he has sent it 2nd Day Air. What this means is that with it leaving on wednesday it wouldn't reach me until Monday (because of Thanksgiving no packages move that day and is not considered a business/shipping day). For it to arrive on friday he would have needed to send it out via Next Day Air which he did not. I've already sent him an email stating my frustration. I am next going to ask for at least half of the shipping costs back. Either way I think I am going to leave him neutral feedback, and if he doesnt refund any of my shipping, negative feedback. Is that fair?

Kinda...

Well, he did say it's a "Wednesday for Friday delivery".

Yeah and he was charging some steep shipping prices for that too, and that's really the only reason I'm so mad at him.

harsh but fair imho

Maybe the seller uses a standard template for all his or her auctions and the Holidays have messed this up?

I know if this was me at the other end yes I'd probably ask for a partial refund on shipping but I'd also understand that the Holidays can have messed this up a little.

Basically if/when it arrives a day or so late (holidays and weekend) I'd be happyish, last few times I've used ebay I've been skanked so arrival of goods is always pleasant :D

Id say youre fully entitled to be

ed off, if a date is specified they have a duty to meet that. If its the couriers fault then its different but in this case he has clearly been lazy

eBay feedback can make or break sellers tbh. Its not his fault that theres a holiday, yet he has advertised it.

Id try and get a patial settlement, as thats an extortional amount of shipping costs. But use feedback as a last resort.

if you arent happy with the seller then leave a negative if you are leave a positive simple,so in your case just leave a negative, its the sellers own fault

I'd give him the chance to put things right (50% back on your shipping..etc), and only if he refuses then give him neutral feedback.

IMO negative feedback should be a very last resort, and only given to someone that has falsely advertised an item, has stolen your money or has taken an extensively long time to deliver your item.

Besides, if you leave them negative, they will probably do it back to you...

I agree with Ham. Work with the dude. Don't be mean in the email you send tim either.

If you send him a kind email, explaining your thought process, and he responds with some

head comment.. well then a neutral/negative is in order.

If he responds in a friendly, honest way, a positive will do.

That is regardless of if he refunds you. That is up to you on what you want to do about the feedback.

If he refunds you 50% = positive

If he doesn't = neutral

If your PS3 comes and it's trashed = negative :p

You're still getting the PS3 and he had no control over the holiday.. if he refunds half the shipping money it shows that he cares about his customers and he's worked with you to make you satisfied and that definitely deserves a positive feedback.

the seller was very aware of the holiday as he noted that for an extra 30 bux he would send it express mail for delivery on thanksgiving day, but for the standard 60 he would send it for today. incompetent seller tbh. im going to work with him on it but im not a happy camper.

Hmm, maybe he forgot that there was no post on thanksgivings?

Basically it comes down to whether he's honest and wants to make up for his mistake tbh, if he does that it's still worth giving him a positive, if he wasn't really bothered about helping then I'd give him a neutral.

my thing with it is that i paid more than enough to have him send it overnight for delivery today. with him sending it 2nd day he easily pocketed an extra 20 bux at the least.

Just an update on this...

The seller got hostile and then decided to stop responding to my emails when I requested a partial shipping refund. I went ahead and left him neutral feedback, in which I think was fair but he retaliated with neutral feedback. I was like WTF mate? You're the one who f*cked up, not me... So I currently have eBay reviewing the feedback he left for me in hopes that they will remove it. I have retarded eBayers, they really p!ss me off!!!!!

me off. I have had to deal with people like him before.

What I have learned: make sure you read the feedback of ebayers before buying/selling so that you don't run into idiots such as this guy.
