Putting together the 8pin connector

rage against

Whatsup guys I recently found my old power supply out of storage and was going to put it in my new build but I had forgotten that long ago I tried sleeving the power supply with MDPC's kit. It seems I managed to sleeve the 8 pin connector wires directly coming out of the PSU but did not put the actual connector piece on it. Now I'm stuck with a perfectly good PSU but no way of using it. Does anyone know if there's a way to know which wires go in what places for the connector? I'm referring to the one that plugs in right next to the cpu. Much appreciated guys thanks

if the wires are color-coded, all the yellow are on top (closest to the clip) and the
grounds are on the bottom for a 8-pin EPS cable. as described in the photo.

if they are blacked-out, that's going to mean cracking the PSU case open and
using a volt/ohm meter to check the grounds to other grounds in the harness
to rule out the power leads..

Alright thanks a lot I tried that and it seemed to work, however now I know that is no longer my main problem. My computer will still not start up. I have tried reseating the cpu and reapplying thermal paste, tried every pci slot i have with my gfx card (nvidia 275 gtx), tried every slot of ram with one stick (I got the right one but still no help). Now I'm starting to think my motherboard may be faulty. I have two PSU's i have tried starting the mobo with, it will not start up with either. I'm going to have to assume it's time for a new mobo...a conclusion I spent the last 2 weeks trying really hard not to reach.

Here are some details though, when I start the computer up it makes one normal beep sound, and then stays silent. (not a high pitched beep). Everything turns on and runs, including the hard drive. HOWEVER, the graphics card DOES NOT turn on, which actually leads me to believe there is an issue with the power supply. But then again, if the motherboard isn't getting power how can the graphics card?

Thanks for your help really appreciate it potentially saving me hundreds
