Hey!

can you guys give help me deside about a fully modular PSU. 800w atleast, would very much like it to be 80+ gold atleast. also really would like something fan that only starts with load :)
and of course as cheap as possible without compromising quality

suggestions..? :)

A good quality, reputeable modular power supply with 80+ Gold (+) will not come cheap :(
Fully recommend the Corsair AX850, though.

Well if you want something as cheap as possible you need to consider how much power the components will actually use. After determining that you could possibly go for an AX750 or lower :)

well, I dont mind spending money on it.. it just cant be 200pounds..!

I actually already bought the XFX 1000w Platinum PSU, but I think im gonna send that back and either use my Fractal Design Newton R2 or get something like the AX850

It all depends on what your system specs are. No point recommending an AX850 if your system needs no where near that amount of wattage, would be a complete waste of money.

well, im prety sure it wont need the wattage..

but I would like to be able to use et in my next pc and maybe even the one after that. would rather buy a 850 now than a 600 and have to get a new one in a year or two.. :)

As time passes hardware gets more and more efficient and uses less power, so if you got say a 600W in the future i'd almost guarentee that could run the vast majority of hardware in the years to come as long as you don't have a ridiculous setup like 2 690's in 4-Way SLI type insanity

I dont think I will ever use SLI or crossfire (ofcourse I dont know what the future brings though..)

but you are probably right.

but not many PSU with around 700 watt offers a hybrid fan control solution, and I dont know if that makes a real difference in noise levels..?

If you want a quiet PSU the Be Quiet Dark Power Pro P10's are pretty much silent. They're a little expenisve when compared to other PSU's but they're damn good!

EDIT: The AX's are silent when they're in passive mode but they can be a bit loud when you max them out, but you rarely max out a PSU so that isn't a issue tbh

Both the AX850 and the AX750 have Hybrid Fan Control, where the fan shall not spin up until you're pulling more than 20% of the rated specs of the PSU.

I use a Seasonic X660 now for over a year and I'm really happy with it, when I'm not gmaing it's completely silent and even when I am gaming all the other fans are louder.
