PSU Requirements for GTX 780

Currently purchasing parts for my first ever pc build using the following components:

Corsair 250D
MSI Z87i Gaming AC
Intel Core i5 4670K
Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB 1866Mhz
Samsung 840 250GB SSD
Corsair RM 650W
MSI GTX 780 Gaming
Corsair H100i

Only component left to purchase now is the graphics card. Question is, would the Corsair RM 650W Power supply I have already purchased be sufficient for this system?

Would be very sufficient. Though tbh if you can find a R9 290(Sapphire tri-x or MSI) for about the same price as the 780 you are looking at then I would be tempted to get it, considering for the most part a 290 is generally faster than a 780. Though both cards will easily fit winthin the PSU power output

290 is hot and loud sadly.

The stock cooled 290/290x is. Every other 3rd party one (with the exception of the Asus one) is fine. The 290 toxic only reaches 70c.

Great, thanks very much for the reply. I went for the MSI GTX 780 Gaming I was originally looking at and it seems to be working flawlessly very happy

If you do at some point get a 2nd 780 you will need to upgrade to possibly an 850w.
A friend of mine ran 2 x 780's on a 650w but I was very uncomfortable with that so donated an older 850w to him to be on the safe side.

Thank you very much for the heads up. I won't be looking at purchasing a second 780 for quite a long time now. I have this in a mini itx build which only allows for one graphics card. By the time I get round to upgrading my graphics card or purchasing a second 780 It will most likely be a complete new build. I didn't intend to spend so much on my first build, however this will be with me for the next few years that I am at University
