Well thought it was about time I upgraded to C2D, so have decided to go for it.

Components Planned:

Lian-Li PC7-Plus (Black) - ORDERED

GSkill 2GB PC2-6400 DDr2 RAM - ORDERED

Asus P5W DH Deluxe - Arriving soon

nVidia 7800GTX - Buying from Llwyd when he upgrades

Intel Core2Duo E4300 - Buying when I have everything else sorted

Everything else I'll be sticking with from this rig

Coolermaster iGreen PSU

Combination of Hard Drives

Still not 100% on the CPU, I cna be convinced otherwise :)

As for modding I'm not sure yet, any ideas are welcome for this case but I don't have a dremel at the moment :S

Lighting colour will hopefully be red, but I expect I'll use whatever I can find in this big box of crap I got from specialtech <3

Case and RAM to arrive Monday, Pics then :)

Suggestions for lighting colour, CPU and modding ideas please :)

Dave! Could you be itching to overclock again????

Swap the P5W for a P5B-Dlx and grab an E6400 from Tekheads as the stepping of their current stock is good up to 3.8ghz ;)

F yes.

managed to get a P5W from a mate so I'll build around that for now, and if it bottlenecks too much ill upgrade afterwards

The P5W DH will do up to 4GHz on a 10x multi chip, depending on RAM and has a lot of decent features so it'as not that bad

And it's free, never a bad thing

Nice to see Dav0s building up a new rig at last! Looks like you're gonna have blast with it, that's for sure.

As far as lighting colors, I'm thinkin' white  If I had a clear side panel on my current case it'd probably be white, it's such a clean look!

Modding idea for the case would be to add a 120mm exhaust fan to the top.

yeah, dont think it would be as easy as putting a couple of holes in the top and attaching a C shaped handle

Wow, that looks like an excellent build :)

The only thing I'd think about if it was me would be the E4300 because of lack of intel VT, but if you don't use VMWare etc I guess that's no problem.

Also how comes you've opted for a i975x mobo rather than a i965 one?
