I would be crapping myself to remove a heatpipe from my Mobo :|

Ahh it wasn't bad at all... Makes a change really that something actually turned out easier than I thought it would. Made sure I read up on how other people had done it before and found that if the motherboard had been used before then people tended to heat it up with a hairdryer but if it was new and the thermal gunk hadn't been heated up yet then some were taking the freeze approach. I figured it would be less messy so went down that route.

Anyway back to progress and I've just spent the last couple of hours taking bits out of the pc and also removing the whole water loop which was a pain in the arse. Reason being that it's only taken 3 months for algae to show up and cloud the tubes. Also it turns out they were stained dark purple. I decided to just replace all the tubing as it's not very expensive but I figured the other components would want a clean.

I used about 1/5 white destilled vinegar and 4/5 distilled water for about 45 minutes and then drained. Filled up again with hot water to flush it out a bit and left that for about half hour and drained and now it's on its final flush with distilled water which I'm going to drain in a min. That has been going for half hour as well.

Here is a pic of what it looked like after the vinegar/distilled water and the hot water. Also a pic of the bucket I'm using... Mmmmm yummy. It's well manky!!

Oh yeah just as a side note... The whole using distilled white vinegar with distilled water method of cleaning is a waste of time really. After I drained the loop for the 3rd time last night, I had to change the backplate on my Supreme. In doing so you have to take the block apart. Inside was still quite a bit of crap between the laser cut fins and also in the copper channels. Surely the point of the vinegar would be to help break this stuff down?

Shant be wasting my time with that again.

Well during the day spent re-building the computer my camera battery died so I didn't get pics all the way throughout.

I will post what I've got soon, but I figured I give you all this pic anyway which pretty much shows where it's at.

Getting that RAM included was a total nightmare.. It might not look that difficult but I ran out of small hose and had to manipulate what I had to fit the job and not kink which it does bloody easy. Also getting it to fit in the 900 is pretty damn difficult.

:o that's a tight squeeze pal, well done! Looking across at my 900 I don't think I would ever undertake water-cooling tbh.
