What have you gotta do when you move into your new apartment only to find that you old TV looks tiny in your new front room?

You buy a new TV of course!

This is the SONY 50" E2010 which is picked up from Comet for £720 as it was ex-display, yes i know its Rear Projection but i like it :P

Its HD enabled but only to 720p which is fine to me tbh as what HD content is there atm for free? None!

So i am now also building a MediaPC to go with it :) one thats HDMI enabled!!

So i bought the following:

KeySonic 2.4Ghz Wireless Compact Keyboard with Integrated TouchPad

ABIT Fatal1ty F-I90HD

Antec NSK2400 MATX Desktop Case Black/Silver - With 380W PSU

Intel E2140 Pentium Dual Core Socket 775 2x1.60GHz 1MB Cache 800FSB

Linksys WMP54G 54mbps Wireless PCI Adapter Card

Ebuyer 1GB KIT (2X512MB) DDR2 800MHz / PC2-6400 Extra Value Ram

Ebuyer Extra Value HDMI to HDMI Cable (Black) 2m

Not bad for £256!

Its all sat behind my desk at work, i cant wait to get home and get this stuff setup!

Downloaded around 100gb of HD720p content last night to test on it - i so hope Heroes is worth it, there 2.6-5.4gb per episode!

Good lord thats a big TV!

Good luck with the build dude, make sure you give us lots of pic.

Are you going to be overclocking btw? 1st of the new pentiums on this forum iirc.

Sadly im not, altho i may be tempted to give the chip a quick test as i've read they can hit up to 3.2ghz which is crazy for such a cheap chip.

With it going into a MediaPC silence will be key :) not speed!

Ahhhh, Fair enough. But yes, you should give it a nice test run at least. 3.2 on a 1.6 stock, £50 chip is nuts tbh.

Oh D'oh!

Nah already got HDD's kicking about at home (120gb for Windows, 250gb of music + movies) that will be going into this along with a DVD-RW.

Night of the Superbowl, I`ll be catching a train to Bradford.

U`r gonna have nothing but entertainment with that TV, I don`t see the specs holding it back tbh.

We can argue picture quality all day, but u`ll probably find u`ll get used to it after a while and start loving it.

I`d pick issues with it - but I`m abnormal.

Best of luck with the build too. 360 on that would look sweet, with nice surround sound. Ugh 50"!

where are you getting heroes at that size per episode?!

my 720p files were just over a GB?

Really nice TV and PC setup man :D

We have a Sony 57" rear projection here, it pwns! I need to connect my PC to it one day...

CS looks awesome on there! I wouldn't have thought a rear projection TV would be very clear, but I guess it is HD :)

I'd love to be sittin on a nice comfy sofa, with a table that extends over your lap to hold your keyboard and mouse, playin CS on a TV like that!
