[Project Log] GREEN MOLECULE (modded Fractal Design ARC Mini R2)

It's coming along very nicely. Love that you pay so much attention to detail. Looking great.

How did you bend the acrylic PSU shroud? and how is it attached to the chassi? I'm looking to do something similar. Loving the rounded edge on it.

Thanks mate :D. I have very limited tools and space to work with at the moment so they way I bent the shroud was to get it between two pieces of wood, use two clamps and clamp it to a table. I then used a heatgun and protective gloves and heated it slowly and evenly until it went soft. I then gently pushed it down on a 90 degree angle against the wood :).

As for the way I am going to attach and secure it ... I'm still working on that, figuring out what the best way will be for this build. I will definitely show how in a future update.

Hope this helps. Thanks for checking out my build. -Alex

Loving this build so far mate

Thanks mate :D

Hey guys!

Here is my first time using the Silhouette Cameo. Fan stickers, molecule pattern on the back panel and the same will be used on the shroud once I'm done with it :). I also did custom stickers for two of the memory sticks that will be seen as well as the EK memory block in white.

The colour of the white vinyl used as you can see from the pictures is different from the white acrylic colour and the rest of the case however a nice UV effect should be visible from all the stickers once the LEDs are in. I will test that out in the following days.

Really happy with the results from the Silhouette. Very good software that comes with it and very easy to use, the designs you can do are unlimited :D

Hey guys, time for another update!

I did a bit of work on the shroud and attached the pump and res as well found a way to support the weight of them and at the same time secure the shroud in place.

As it is now, it's very easy to get the shroud in and secure it, without having to access the back or underneath it.

Here you can see the holes for the pump and res as well as for the GPU cables.

And this is what's holding the shroud, with a dome nut on the top.

A look at the Swiftech MCP35X pump with the Bitspower top and Koolance heatsink.

I have a complete kit from Koolance which includes a pump casing along with the heatsink but I didn't like the look of it. So I just used the heatsink with a bit of mod work on the bottom of the original casing.

Cable still needs to be measured, cut and sleeved

And here it is attached to the shroud

With the long bolt and nuts supporting the weight of the shroud I can easily adjust the nuts to make sure these two fittings align perfectly.

Also as you can see from these following pics, the two side panels have been painted white. I will give a closer look at them once I attach the clear acrylic.

I really hate seeing the stock Intel heatsink on but unfortunately this is the only rig I have that I can use at my desk.

Thanks for checking it out!

Saw your new reservoir on Clockwork Case Mods yesterday and it looks quite cool, can't wait to see it fitted and filled.

Hey guys,

So if you couldn't tell from the renders, I will be getting a custom res. This will be going in the 5.25" bays of the case. Not sure if anyone picked up on this but in one of the earlier posts I did mention that something special will be going in the 5.25" bays.

Clockwerk Case Mods has been hard at work over the last few days making the res for me and it looks awesome! Make sure to check out their page!

Here is the res in the making:

I cannot wait to get my hands on this awesome res. It will be shipping out in a couple of days!

Thanks for checking it out guys.

Alex

Yea Clockwerk case mods are talented indeed, except that brass/bronze/gold HAF thing he has going on, that thing look terrible. (To me at least)

That's just so damn awesome. Sick looking res!

Thanks a lot mate :D

Yea Jim does some really cool stuff. I really like the HAF Stacker he's working on, can't wait to see that thing finished. The blue and gold one is a client build, it's a Mass Effect theme, I'm not sure how that's gonna turn out yet, though I'm sure it will be good :)
