Project Cars Monthly Challenge March & April

Sounds like a great Plan guys. ill deffo be leaving my comfort zone without aids and with damage enabled on such a long point to point ( Azure Coast ) makes it a real challenge.

I'm not talking about the full Coast run just the shorter tracks. ;)

Slowly shaving time off. Maybe I need to learn how to tune...

I agree sheding wieght is all above board, but you are going to need your seat.

EDIT: as an idea I'm contemplating putting together a Project Cars Pro Thread to run along side this one with the rules being tighter, i.e NO aids and full damage the only options you will have are manual or automatic gears. I'm thinking we stick with the BAC Mono and use the Azure Coast point to point stages which are all kinds of fun.

We need to have a massive online battle royal with all of us going balls to the wall.

Great time for a default setup. You Will get a much faster lap with a custom setup. Makes a huge , night and day, difference to the way the car handles.

Thanks to BonkersMental sending me a tuning set-up I'm finally getting competitive. It made the car so much more comfortable to drive and allowed me to push that little harder with more confidence. Still lots to learn, but I'm getting there. Thanks Bonkers!

It's a strange game, it's like the devs just threw random setups in and said "that'll do" alot of the cars are so bad it's untrue. Every challenge we've done now I've manually tuned each car until it behaves, but I guess that's why it makes it more challenging.

Yeah it's both good and bad in a way. Great that people can customise and tweak the settings to gain an advantage - much like real life - but it sucks that the base line is so frickin bad. Most road cars handle like my 1979 Corolla. They don't.

I usually youtube or google the track/car combination to get a starting point and honestly I'm useless at setting up myself. I hear about toe in and camber/caster and bump rates and it all falls out the other ear.

I would like to know what setup the current #1 position holder uses tho!

Aye there are many sites that will freely give up better base settings for cars like the PCars Database all of which are great for setting up and tightening your ride. As for custom setups, I like to keep mine close to my chest.

PCars OC3D Monthly Challenge

yeah I tried using those. I found the setups for last month total C**p though. It seems the majority are designed for controllers because the moment i tried with a controller as opposed to my wheel, it was like black and white. Completely different.

Same setup with my wheel, and i was all over the place. Just had to tweak my own settings so it played how I liked it to. I haven't had time to jump into this months one. Hopefully can try to catch up on the weekend.

Well you can be forgiven as you've been extremely busy and suffering with man flu too. Still got a month to get a time in, and I'm also considering a final showdown race at the end of April for us all to take part in with 20 laps and winner takes the crown.

His username is no coincidence, I don't think any of us are going to beat that bonkers lap
