Project Blue Rock!

Still waiting for the order to be delivered to me, and being christmas time it'll probably be sometime next week :(

So I installed the motherboard I/O plate, its a generic one that came with the case but it makes it look more finished, and installed the pci blanks that came with my Switch 810.

I am one pci blank short so guess where I stole the last one from :)

I am currently in contact with NZXT to buy 7 of them off them so I can replace the one I "stole" and have the others available once I move something within the case, the next upgrade will probably be a new single gpu in a year or so, so I need to have atleast two of them on hand so I can replace them once two slots used by the second gpu are freed.

Nice shade of blue!

Although I have a feeling that passing your University course will get you much further than modding cases.

Santa stopped by today, its weird that he was dressed as a postman

I got a bricky grill, 2m of neoprene egde trimming and some 30mm m3 screws.

Installed the trimming on the bottom of the motherboard tray.

Image173_zps906baac9.jpg

measured out the top, I measured the size of the internals of the grill and cut 3mm larger on each side, also was close to making the mistake of a liftime, thank god to the guy who invented measure twice, cut once.....

test fit....

thats it for now, I'm waiting for the chassis to dry up :)

nice grille, reminds me of the 900D stuff.

dirty front panel tho!

not sure where you saw the front panel, I think that's the top panel you're referring to, it hasn't been sanded down to perfection as it doesn't need to be, it will all be covered by the grill anyway.

I was waiting for someone to comment (no double posting) for some more goodness......hmm me likey :)

first things first, I installed the feet to avoid scratching the bottom and installed the moulding on the bottom fan cutout

Image186_zpscde347be.jpg

wrapped the top panel, cut to size and put the grill in place with 6 screws

Image195_zps7fcc2561.jpg

these little bumps don't wanna go away, I removed the wrapping and its completely clean and the surface is flat, they're not as bad as they look int picture

Image197_zps37779e5b.jpg

next up, installed all fans and front panel, I need to go get another fan for the top. This is gonna be fun to cable manage if a rig is ever built inside :) Also I won't fit the side panels for now as the paint isn't fully hardened yet and the motherboard tray is kinda a pain in the ass to get in :)

Image212_zps35f3f5a5.jpg

and no I haven't forgot about the guy that asked for the outdoor pics, it was already dark when I finished today.

I will post the last ( :( ) update soon once the paint is fully cured and the side panels are in, I will also include a lot of outdoor pics :)

Final Pics!!!! All is left is to get the plexi, I will eventually get it as I'm trying to find a piece for free :) Also been in contact with NZXT for the extra pci blanks but haven't heard anything from them in a week....

Also got the last fan I needed although it wasn't yet installed when I took the outdoor pictures. And fixed the scratches that occured when I installed the motherboard tray.

That's actually not bad! Well, pretty good!

Now fill it with hardware ;)

^^ what Feronix said ! dont just show us the tip.. give us the full monty !

Thanks guys, but with a motor loan coming my way I can't justify building another pc that I don't need :)

looks good mate, I'd still like to see you wrap that front:)

Probability of that happening is quite low, my skills with wrapping are still close to non existent and that front panel doesn't look close to easy.

Also I might extend this mod a bit more, I was looking through my storage cupboard and found my old Corsair H50....if you catch my drift :)

Awesome job maniac :D Like mehere said the front would look beast in carbon wrap, but that would take a lot of patience and swearing xD

I should really stop monitoring the forums while studying! Hope you fuckers are happy :)

Not as perfect as I would like, but its good enough. Now I also have to fix the power and reset switches as I accidentally pulled off the cables from the switches. Oh and I need to go continue studying.

Edit: I also need to clean that front panel.

That look better, now if you can just do the other half with the pattern running the opposite way leaving the struts alone
or you could just tell me to foxtrot oscar :)
