Potential price drop on 8 series?

Would anyone like to have a guess at what pricedrops are likely to be like on 8 series cards once the 9 series hits next month?

With word being that we won't see the top end of the 9 series till summer, I'm wondering what reductions are going to be like.....I really fancy a GTX at the moment, and 20 or 30 quid isn't going to make much of a difference to me, but if it's going to be steep....

I would recomend a GT or a GTS 512mb. They are virtually on par.

From new prices I think the prices drop will be significant on the top end cards, as they will be phased out. If you can cope with a GT for a month or so you'll save more money and people might be interested in second hand GTs for SLi at that stage so it will be easy to sell on.

Nvidia is also getting some solid competition from the 3850/3870/3870x2s, so yeah, I'm fairly sure the prices will go down soon enough.

well i see that Nividea is makin alot of new graphic cards lately !! from what i saw is that nividia launched the 8600 series and the 8600 for example supports Dx10 and can be overclocked and actuely gives a realy excellent average of performance comparing to the high end graphic cards !!

so by summer time ! Prices will dop significantly

Prices on the 8800's have been coming down nicely;

£128 for a 512mb 8800gt is as cheap as I've seen them so far;
