please help with my new computer

no. i am still learning about comps and even though id probably could do it myself id rather not. im getting this from cyberpowerpc.com

shame, its good fun building your rig up yourself, and it saves money plus you get the satisfaction of it.

i would reccomend you to do it (its easy everything has a manual)

but its upto you, nice specs anywho:)

cheers.

You need to take the plunge in to PC building at some point or another mate, why not start now? It's actually MUCH MUCH easier than it may seem if never have done it before.

For the most part everything is just click in to place, attach the power cables, screw down a few things here and there and that's it. Not much more too it than that if you wan't to look at it in it's simplest form.

If you wanted, one of us here could even write a step-by-step guide on how to assemble a computer from the ground up. It wouldn't take too long to write and would be a good guide for you to go from.

C'mon mate, build it yourself, we have faith in ya!!! :wavey:

well i kinda want to get back to gaming. my comp broke and im using this ****ty laptop. ive been getting my $ together for the last 2 weeks and just want to get a quality machine asap. It seems like the price is about the same also. since this is my first "real" computer i think im gona leave it up to the professionals to $#@! it up. my next comp and all the upgrades ill make on this though ill do with my own 2 hand.

last few questions though. what will i need to upgrade when vista and dx10 come out and how much of a difference will there be if i had either the 1gb corsair XMS High Performance Memory w/ Heat Spreader or had 2gb of plain corsair rather than just 1gb of regular corsair. last but not least will copying my 40gb hard drive (with legit XP) on to the new 160gb and changing the drivers work? where do i go in the bios or boot up menu to do the copy?

btw i just wanted to thank all of you for giving your time and helping my computer retarted mind out and ive learned a lot from talking to you guys and listening to your opinion. i think im gona stay around on your forums for awhile.:worship: :worship: :worship:

We're glad you've learned a lot mate, and we hope that you'll stick around for longer than a while. You really should have a crack at building your computer yourself, you'll learn heaps and we're here if you get stuck. :)

OK well if I were you I'd get 2gb of Corsair Value as its good stuff generally.

As for windows: you will need to re-install windows or get the firm to do it for you. Make sure you back up all your important files

Looks like a pretty solid build to me. Build it yourself! You can always see if there is someone nearby you who knows what they are doing. Easiest way to learn, takes like 2hrs tops :)

It could be a good idea for better performance to buy a second hard drive for "build" a RAID 0 config (or a RAID 1 for security of yours data). For more info someone in forums posted a tutorial about different RAIDs.

I have a RAID 0 and its really faster ;)

im trying to keep this comp as low priced as possible but i seem to just be adding to it lol. anyway i donot need a big hard drive atm. this 160 will be too much for me to fill. i also have a 40gb if needed. ive also decided to go with the antec 550w psu instead of the TT 600w.

just currious what you guys would rated this as gaming comp. Obviously not high because im on a budget but what do you think?

Not bad that for a mid-range rig mate - you'll be pretty happy with it mefinks :)

All the parts are decent - can't go wrong imo

If you had a little more cash I'd say get 2gb RAM but on the budget that looks pretty spot on :)

I have the Saitek and its a great keyboard :D

yea thanks i plan to upgrade to 2gb when i get some more $. i also plan on getting a better video card when dx10 comes out.

Both good ideas mate :)

Glad you got it all sorted and thats a tasty little system you'll be getting :yumyum:

Nice to see a polite post asking for help get solved well :D

thanks you guys were very helpfull with this issue. only took me 20 posts and 200 questions lol. im kind of going against my clan leaders opinion of waiting till vista comes out to get a new comp but. I want to game i cant wait that long ( vista may never be out at this rate). id like to keep in touch so ill continue to use the forums, most likely asking questions because as you see i dont know enough to give feedback and responces. if you guys use xfire or a public comm let me know, my xfire is redsoxsniper2. i haven't been on it for awhile but will be on it again after i get this comp. thanks again sox.

hey nick a bit off topic but i saw a pic of your desk in your rig. What kind of desk is it? got a link? i need a new desk and i only have 4-5ft to work with. your desk looks sweet. also do u think buying 2gb of Corsair XMS3200 ECC USED for $125 is worth it.
