Looks good for the most part to me. Maybe try and spend a little extra on that PSU - Cheapo PSU's will most likely give you nothing but grief.

Looks a pretty decently specced system to me apart from that PSU. I'd shell out a little more on a good brand like Tagan, Hyper, enermax, OCZ, PCP&C etc

what would you guys suggest. should i upgrade the video card to the 7900gt 256? also i was wondering will the X2 4200 be a great difference from the X2 3800. Lastly i do not know anything about motherboards what should i be looking for in upgrading it. Thanks guys your a great help!!

Are you only wanting to game on it mate? Or are you going to overclock it as well? But as has been previously stated, a better brand of PSU would be beneficial. The ones that Kemp identified would be the shortlisted PSU's to look at. Best of luck with your new system too redsox38 :)

I wouldn't bother with the X2 upgrade. Those 3800+ are good CPU's - and as long as you get a nice motherboard with the PC then it should overclock a treat.

An upgrade to a 7900GT would certainly be noticible and would allow you to take advantage of all of todays games at very high detail levels. Here is what I thought of the 7900GT.

The 7600GS is a decent mid-range card tho :)

yes this comp would be pretty much for gaming. like i stated earilier im still learning my way around the computer and dont know much about overclocking. on my past setup i overclocked my 6600GT card but other than that i dont know much about it and what you can overclock. Also i need some advice on a motherboard.

how about if i put this power supply in instead: Antec TPII-550 550Watt ATX 12V Power Supply. also the 7900gt though looking good is a bit out of my price range and with vista and dx10 comming out should i really make the investment on that high priced of a card. What about uprgading the 7600gs to the 7600GT.

From what I've heard 7600GS > GT is a good move.

The Antecs decent enough for that setup :)

What motherboards have they as a choice?

As everyone else says, rethink PSU.

All the info you need to learn to overclock is right here on this site mate. And X2 3800s are dam good at it.

Could i suggest tho that you go for a different, cheaper keyboard? Eclipse perhaps. The G15 may be feature packed but IMO its just plain expensive for a keyboard.

On the graphcs front i say go for the 7600, should run everything fine untill DX10 is atcualy worth upgraging for.

if i have this setup with a 7600GT what will i have to update in jan when vista and dx10 comes out?

also if if someone could choose one of these boards for me that would be great (not really wanting to spend another $100). :

yea i decided to go with the Saitek PZ30AU Eclipse Gaming Keyboard which saves me $30. Im just trying to decide on a motherboad and whether or not i should go with the 7600GS or GT.

i also could go up to this psu if it would greatly benifit: Thermaltake ToughPower 600 Watt Power Supply - SLI Ready.

or this one for only $10 more than the 550w antec:

Aspire 680W BEAST POWER ATX Power Supply

IF you can afford it get the A8N sli-deluxe board

Not too sure about the evga board though - is it good - anyone?

I'd get the TT out of those two

hey the delux board does look a bit out of my range the most id like to spend is 50 at most. are one of thoese boards there that are only +$50 or below any good, and would work for my cause. Also does that upgrade to the Aspire 680W BEAST POWER ATX Power Supply for only $10 more than the antec 550w seem like a good deal.

From my previous experience of Aspire PSU's - steer clear.

The TT Toughpower is actually not a bad PSU and has received some good reviews.
