This really really really gets on my nerves. I used to do it mebbe, but really Microsoft just aren't that bad...or at least only as bad and money grabbing as any HUGE corporation are.

Seriously I wish people would stop saying M$, or Micro$oft! :nono:

It makes us look immature and ever so slightly petty

MS will be fine thank-you :D

I only do it in quotes of people who already used it :) agreed though, things like that bug me too - then again, everything bugs me :(

your right, every company there is thinks the same way as MS, i mean, thats why people start companies isnt it?

Yep agreed. Its a company, it has staff, it has shareholders, it has bills - therefore how can people be so narrow sighted and not see that it needs to make financially plausable business decisons in order to survive.

I disagree.

But hey u could stick it in u`r filter if u`r that upset about it.

Spraying immaturity around is immature in itself.

I'm spraying nothing around

However if you would like your opinion heard, then putting something childish in the post like "M$" makes it less valid (however valid and well-structured the argument is). This is the way I look at it from a personal point of view, as well as a linguistic standpoint.

Spraying probably a bit over the top, - `keep on saying` is possibly better. I appologize.

Similarly branding something childish ? It`s an attempt to belittle a group into a train of thought to get them onboard to something u`r trying to put forward. In this case the monicur m$. It definately doesn`t lean towards a well-structured arguement coz u`ve intimidated the opposition before u`ve started. Linguistically thinking, u`r only going to go down 2 avenues; firstly those who could care very little about the inherent topic and thus will have a `pffft - ok` reply; and those who may disagree with u`r arguement that have already had their backs up from u`r opening statement.

It`s definately not a basis for a start of a debate. Having said that, this is meant to be a rant ?

imo Microsoft are just like anyother company, and will do what they need to be as sucesful as they can, and just becuase they are a massivly succesful company shud be a credit to there staf past and present

Every company starts by copying someone else  and strives to monopolise everything without a regard for the law? ;)

I think he means to make a shed load of money

Plus yeah - if every company could monopolise their own market they would
