Hey guy's im just wondering if anyone can enlighten me on something im wondering what the ramifications of running an sli system with the second card running at 4x ? Would it affect performance ? Thanks guys.

I know that the difference between 16x and 8x is minimal but I think 4x would seriously affect performance. What cards and what motherboard would help a bit aswell :)

Maybe if your board/CPU have PCI-E 3.0 it might be fine. I didn't think SLI was supported on anything under 8x though?

SLI doesn't work on a 4x lane !!

Be careful, Nvidia disable it unless you have 8x 8x. Probably to stop people putting out shoddy benchmarks.

Yeah your correct and i know it runs at 8x which would be ideal and no real peformance hit im just actually wondering how tight it will be , mm seems it will fit also i notice your using a switch 810 , me to haha (Y) . Thanks for the comments .

You shouldn't have any probs fitting two cards in the first and second slot, unless they are triple slot cards that is. Dual slot cards will fit with enough room, no probs.

Yep, I have the Switch, thinking of downsizing when Haswell comes out. I want something smaller, might even go for a mATX case.
