Not sure if this is posted in correct place if not i apologise and feel free to move.

recently ( approx 2-3 weeks ago ) built my new AMDX6 Build, all running fine untill of recent, last night for example i was playing World Of Warcraft for a few hours and my pc randomly shut down which i thought " strange " but most likely temps but after checking they were fine ( Mobo about 36c - CPU 35 ) this random shut down has happened about 3 times but sometimes i can just leave the desktop up whilst i go make a drink and itl just restart itself.

I Googled around most said Temps but thats isnt a issue, anyone got same problem or shed any knowledge on this? its not frequent enough to annoy me but id like to try sort it.

cheers

if you require any more info let me know.

full system specs and bios settings would be a good start mate

and idle temps arent what u should take note when it shuts down its all about load temps, have u overclocked? ran stress tests to check its stable?

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.80GHz

Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 AMD 880 (Socket AM3)

4GB Mushkin (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666 9-9-9-24 Silverline - 996768

VTX 5850

OCZ 650 Watt PSU

Hitachi Desktstar 250gb

Samsung f3 1tb

No overclocking done, not sure how to check bios but havent flashed or anything.

no stress tests done, but il check load temps and repost

try a cmos reset to rule out some messed up settings in the bios, also in the bios set your ram timings yourself to there rated timings, does the pc blue screen or just shut off?

what cooler are you using?

no blue screen at all just shut down.

not sure how to set the timings myself never really messed around with the bios, i was told to flash tho as that could help but not sure how safe/easy it is to do.

also the cooler im using is Corsair A50.

also in the last week i have done a few hour sessions on bad company 2 and call of duty 4 and its been fine.

just downloaded Prime95 / Core temp if that helps?

setting the ram timings is pretty easy mate especially on asus boards

so it just switches itself off? like the power has died? maybe you have a short somewhere, did you build it yourself? also just get inside it and unplug the gpu power, 8 pin cpu and 24 pin and them plug them back in to rule out it not being plugged in properly, failing that it sounds like its maybe a psu problem

thanks friends coming over shortly hes more " bios friendly " then me so il ask him if he can take a look, il redo all the leads etc as need to fit my fan controller anyways.

PSU is approx 3 months old lol if it is that then il just buy a corsair.

thanks il keep thread updated

I'm not *that* bios friendly ya nub
