Hi, I use DVD flick to convert video formats into DVD vob formats, and sometimes DVD shrink to fit them on a single Layer 120min/4.7gb DVDs. I use imgburn to burn it, it actually came with dvd flick, and it does it all automatically. But the dvd's dont seem to have any sort of Pause, rewind/foward functionality. Is this a problem that comes from the source? Or is it something I can add in the encoding process. I'm sort of new to DVD encoding and all that so any help is appreciated. Also on another video I burnt to a dvd, towards the end of the video the sound was slightly off sync. So those are my issues lol. Thanks

I've tooled around on and off for years with various tools for ripping and encoding and such, but I've never seen that as an issue. First, I said tooled around, so I'm no guru, but I'd think its flick, or maybe your player just isn't "reading" it correctly. Have you tried VLC on it? And have you had this problem with other burners/encoders? Just trying to pare down the problem a bit.
They seem to play back fine. Usually avi when they are downloaded. Then dvd flick converts it. Ive only noticed it on one dvd maybe it was an isolated incident. But the main thing is just wanting to be able to pause, and skip scenes, or FF or RW.
DVD flick adds Title menu and scene skips, but once I hit play and i try to move the progress bar to fast foward and rewind the movie starts over.

It could be as simple as a bad disc, but there's so many things that it could be. I'd suggest reburning it, exactly the same way and seeing if the problem duplicates. If it does then its not the disc, and then its probably the converter software. But, that's a wild guess, with a little info and a few shots in the dark. I"d also suggest trying it with VLC (Video Lan) and see if you can move around the disc using FF and rewind. This could point to a simple incompatibility with the player.
Sorry for the lack of info lol. I really don't do much regarding multimedia converting/burning/encoding. All of my mp3 player had software that did it automatically. And the main thing is just getting used to DVD formats and the different formats...aspect ratio's the bitstreaming stuff. If I cant do basic dvd's i'm never going to be able to burn blue rays! But thanks for the info, I was reading about the VLC player it pretty much can read any format out there huh?

There's a slew of stuff out there for creating DVDs too. I"d try another and do some RTFM'ing too.
