Orca 2

Tom. Just build the 600C like with the server case. I like the way its different but still look stock. To the naked eye you won't say it's mod.

This can be even better or should i say bigger :p .

You have a big social network and forum to be sure that you'll have the support and opportunities to get it done properly of you can't do it. This is a community so it would be even more significant if "b neg" or "snef" helps.

Goodluck. Waiting to see your decision.

With all the new stuff around and seeing more and more mods with the case I have in mind I'd seriously consider the CM Master case 5 in white would look epic, alternatively and you'll not like me for saying it but the Tt Versa U21 or the N21 Snow. Right, that said I'm off to hide now.

I just had a look at the 600C and its a fine looking case, the rear panel looks like it would turn over okay with a little tweeking. The mobo panel may be better replaced with a custom aluminium/ acrylic panel.
A lot of work but that's part of the fun?

Could you not Fabricate your own case Tom that way it would be unique to you personally. you have the skills to do it just a suggestion to think about

Phanteks are still a bit iffy with me after the P400 review

That sucks. You just told it like it is = the case has great potential but it's flawed. Fix one thing and it's brilliant.

Are the 600C and 760T similar enough to swap the internals? Or the front panels? That would probably be just as much mucking around.

All in all though if you have your mind set on a case and some ideas on how you want to make it work go for it. That's what makes it personal. Just like the Stryker in ORCA you saw the potential and got creative and made something unique.

TBH Tom I think you need to do an interim build, the 600C just isn't good enough and the current crop of cases don't seem to be new enough either, if I were you I'd wait to see if there is anything new coming to the market that catches your eye and go from there

I think you're on to something with the Custom case then you can design in what way you want but it all depends on if you have the time.

TTL have you thought a using the CoolerMaster Master Case, I now this is old and you may not have them anymore but what about the CaseLabs case i know you review them about 4 years ago but surely they would fit everything you want to put into it.

Definitely think you should do it
Looks like a good challenge

I might even do one myself seems you may have inspired me

Maybe to keep the big white Orca theme, A Caselabs Merlin SM8 white case with the updated internals you'll be putting in, Expensive but then again it is a long term investment.

OR if that's a bit too over the top, A corsair 780T in white which you have :)

Would look the shiznitz !

Flippin it

Okay so the 760 is different width so sharing the frame there won't work.
I don't have a 600C so all I can do is guess. You obviously will have a better idea as you have the parts in front of you.

How about taking the feet off, the front and top panel and just rotating the whole thing 180 degrees clockwise? Mod the panels back on and attach the feet to the old roof and bobs your uncle. Of course there are things you can't tell unless you're hands on like the front panel mounting points but I'd guess most of them would be pretty symmetrical.

You wouldn't use the 5.25 bays anyways so no worries about them lining up.

Original - note the rivets and slots are the same top and bottom. This makes it look like the internal frame is pretty standard and hopefully reversible.

Remove the feet and the front and top panels and reattach (No doubt way more painful than it should be)

Done - well aside from the upside down logos and the door mounting. Maybe some bolts instead of pins for the door and make your own PSU cover (or remove it)

You could also lift the top panel (and front with it) by 10mm or so as per Wraiths Define S. I'd be tempted to keep the lines smooth around the top corner so lift the front panel by the same amount to keep it flush with the top.

Anyways just an idea and apologies for the really dodgy paint images!!

Isnt as simple sadly and I want the extra raised roof section

Ah that's a shame. I'm sure you'll work something out!

The more I look at it the more I wonder why Corsair didn't do it this way to start with - I mean look at the 400C. Make it larger and you'd be set.

Not a lot else is really compelling ATM - especially in the larger form factors unless you go all out Caselabs style. I know this build is pretty special so it deserves something worthy.
