one 6970 or two 6850s? Dual Screen or more

hey, just wanted to know, what I would be better off buying.

I want to run dual or more screen but I'm unsure of what to spend my money on,

yes I know the 7000 card are coming but I need this now!

I'm running a 2500k docked on a Asus P8Z68 deluxe gen3 and a borrowed 6850

I'd go for the single 6970, or better still get a 6950 and flash the BIOS to a 6970.

With a single card you are going to produce less heat which means its more efficient and you can easily add a second card in the future.

Eyefinity is easily possible with a 6950 or 6970 and you will be able to easily achieve workable FPS levels.

nVidia has some pretty cool cards as well... I was in the same position as you (6950 vs 570) and went GTX 570 and havent regretted it since

nVidia have also got Multiview cards as well, which support 3 monitors out of the box.

The only one I have seen that does that is the 590. The other Nvidia GPUs need 2 for multi monitor. or some special non reference one.
