OC3D G3258 Overclocking Scores

Wraith

Bettyswollocks
So as the Thread title says it's pretty self explanatory, please share your G3258 Overclock results and findings. Please try to include Base Clocks, Volts & Frequency multipliers, and as always CPUZ Validation is required otherwise we won't believe you ;)

My Chip was a good one right out the box (Batch#: 3418C000) stock 3.2Ghz at 1.050 and I achieved 4.0Ghz with just 1.080v.. great start with more to come.

Please post your results in the thread below and I'll add them to the list as we go, please include your full system specs and a nice pic to show off your OC monster ;) so the only thing left now is to discover who will top the table??

Example of a post:
System Spec.
CPU:
Intel Pentium G3258 (Obviously)
Cooling:
Corsair H100i
Motherboard:
Asus H97-Pro Gamer
RAM:

wow way to go wraithguard thats awesome

how far do you think your gona push it ;) :D
Thanks fella, it's not that impressive but it's a start.

I think I'll get 4.8 - 4.9, I already know TPC has a 5.2Ghz clock so we'll see what happens as the Validations start coming in.

I'm not sure how to do the validation but I get 4.2ghz at 1.2v. Gigabyte H81 boards only go up to 1.2v core setting.

The upside to this is that the standard cooler is just fine. Gets up to about 65 C max.

Here's a hint though! Remember these chips throttle for watts and current as well as temp so turn up the threshold when overclocking. Otherwise under constant load the frequency will dip to 3.4ghz or so.

I've added your score and also updated the OP with CPUZ links and a link to the how to validate your Overclock. ;)

BTW I wont be able to Validate the 5.2ghz one since it went into the bin after I finished the text for the review, had to do Cinebench once more and that was too much, and the much worse thing is that it took my Mainboard with it... FFS *gnarf*

No problem fella, I tried for 4.8 last night but something went breasts north, and somehow lost my Bootmgr (don't ask). I'm still getting used to UEFI it's all new to me. :D

I'll be adding your score soon from the OC3Dtv review, that will have to do for Validation I think.

If I get a chance in a week or two I may rage the volts on the ones I have ;)

I'll throw my stuff together and do it up this weekend. It will go into an ASRock Anniversary Z97 mobo.

Show me your citrus peel! Sorry too much Big Bang Theory

It's becoming ever so popular now to get this CPU as high as possible but yet we only have a hand full of entries... come on guys and girls show me your clocks ;)

And if your having second thoughts about not Overclocking your G3258, here's a quote from some guy that looks like TTL.
