And yeah I will definitely be putting the card to good use. I just need to save up for a few more parts and I should be good to go with a dedicated F@H rig.
I think that letting people know very early about the cutoff point was fantastic as it gave a few members a chance to push all they have in order to be able to enter the competition.
The rules were very fair and it meant that the people who had entered would need to maintain their average if they had any hopes of winning. Personally I tried to game a little less in order to maintain my average and since I took some days off work I had to find other things to occupy my time
Thanks guys . I need to purchase most of the parts yet, but a dedicated F@H rig will definitely be up in the next 6 months or so . I have an SSD, RAM + CPU cooler. Still need to get all of the other components, which will take a bit of time as I don't have the funds unfortunately.
When the post man came today with a package that had my name on it, I couldn't remember if I had ordered something recently . I was baffled as to what it could be. The package seemed too small to be a graphics card, but when then outer wrapping was removed , I was surprised to see that it was the card I won courtesy of the F@H competition.
I would like to once again thank Tom, hmmblah and the rest of the team for the competition. Now, without further delay some pictures of the card:
I will test the card as soon as possible. I'm pretty busy with my Final Year Project at the moment, but I plan to have the card tested over the next week and a half. I will obviously be updating this thread as I go along, so keep an eye out .
A dedicated F@H rig will be built as soon as I have the funds. I will most likely use a Mini-itx motherboard on a test bench to keep the costs low to begin with.
