OC3D Cinebench R20 Benchmark Thread

Quick and dirty 4.30GHz overclock on the 3950X using 1.30v, Going by peak temps I could probably push 4.40GHz and be quite safe and also I'm only running 3200MHz memory, If I had the Ryzen sweetspot of 3600MHz I could maybe push my score even higher.

Sees thread.

Thinks - "When did I last update this thread?"

Looks at thread - "oh no"

I guess I need to update this thread...

It's a sparsely used thread so it's not a biggie :)

Yeah, but a lack of updates does discourage participation.

I need to get TTL to run one of the new Threadrippers and ruin the charts.

It didn't take long to update. Some of the newer posts either lack a screenshot or don't list their results using the correct notation.

Example (from Ofan):

535cb, Intel i9-9900K, 5.1Ghz, 3333MHz DDR4, Windows 10, Ofan

Single-threaded:

239cb, i7 920, 3.8GHz, 1600MHz DDR3, Windows 7, notcool

Multi-threaded

1263cb, i7 920, 3.8GHz, 1600MHz DDR3, Windows 7, notcool

Scoreboard updated. It was only a matter of time before somebody threw a Threadripper in there.

Get some 3200MHz memory in there, No one should run 2133, Anything under 3200MHz for Zen 2 and you are leaving a lot of performance on the table.

I complained a while ago that my scores always got worse in CB after the first run. I figured out why last night, too.

Jay did a video yesterday on RAM speeds and timings. Whilst they make a great difference to many things in certain cases they can actually hinder performance, as stupid as it sounds. And oddly his scores reflected mine. Why was I getting higher scores initially? because I hadn't even been into BIOS and enabled RAM XMP or whatever.

As soon as I clock and time my RAM my scores decrease. Which is odd, but in this case ( CB ) I really don't think it matters much dude. Was the same story on my 1920x too.

Not with 3d rendering, which I built this new rig to purely do. The kit is 3200MHz but the xmp profile wasn't on when I did this run.

I think this clearly shows it doesn't make any difference in this type of workload.
