NZXT Switch 810 Build/Mod Log

Get LED strips, cathodes are shit.

The braided ones are good easy to hide and MUCH tidier. The cathode boxes never look right unless you spend ages hiding them.

Tom: Just for reference, this is one of my old rigs, do you mean I should have my tubing like this?

Really appreciate your input

I do agree with you about the strips vs cathodes though, the inverter box is a pain in the arse, will look into the NZXT sleeved ones

Basically the way us old school modders work is the hose just needs to be the tidiest way possible. Look at the CKC build, theres hardly any hose. Thats what you want.

If you have to have a long section of hose somewhere. Hide it as best as possible.

Will take a look; I think in the next week or two, your inputs will be taken into action and you will see it and like it more

*hopefully*

Again; thank you!

In the last pictures you posted, i dont think you can get the hosing much tidier than that, It already looks tidy, there's no way you can shorten the hosing down from what i can see.

Not often I disagree with Tom, but I think the way you've got the loop is the tidiest.

If you go block/block/rad you'd need hose coming out of the block to the front rad barb, then an ugly big length of hose along the top of the board.

That or take out that bit of optical bay (guessing it's either there for support or a fan controller) and have the barbs that end. That's what I've got in my head for when I start mine.

Hey mate - epic looking build there. Wish I had have seen this before I started getting my build organised.....mines gonna be pretty damn similar to yourss (well, I hope it is!).

Just out of curiosity how are you draining this bad boy? My biggest hitch so far is working out how the easiest way to include some sort of drainage system.

Haha, well it shall be interesting to see yours! :)

How I drain this?
- I get a bowl, put it under the gpu, pull the tubing off. Then i unscrew a cap off the res to allow the water to flow out of the block/tube and into my bowl

easiest way, is probably use a bitspower tap, but whether that will look as good is the question!

Ahhh - nice. I will give that a shot, given that I'm using 1/2" barbs and 7/16 tubing there's no way I can get the tubing off easily from the barb so I'll have to try just unscrewing the rotary fitting from the block. Might be a bit harder than using a tap but your right, it wouldn't look anywhere near as clean ;)

As for my build, mate, if I can get it even a fraction as good as yours I'll be happy ;) Once I have it together I'll upload some pics though.

Oh yeah - and did you end up sorting out the GPU block issue you were having? Think I noticed that in another one of your threads.
