NZXT Switch 810 Build/Mod Log

SOOOO, with the case finally coming today, decided to snap out my dremel first and cut the bottom of the 5.25" bay out so that i can have the 360mm rad going up the front of the case, and still have my 3.5" HDD in the top, with the provided drive bay adapter. it literally only just fit by MILLIMETRES !! water cooling at the moment, with the pump the way it is, is only there to see how it looks, so far... i dont like it that much >.<

My 420 (3 x 140mm) rad should be here soon, with my GTX 570's also coming to the loop too, so will have to think about tubing layout and the angled fittings that i will use and where they will go to achieve maximum sexy-factor.

Like my Phantom, i may do some green painting somewhere, even the MOBO tray again i might do, just because it is so nice in green, and is a nice colour scheme. However, will see how it looks with Green Cathodes in it, and Green 140mm fan's too.

Will get good pics up next week, with everything in it hopefully

also have to clean up the 5.25" bay too, have some sanding and filing to do

Nice, I was wondering about if a 360 would work in the front of the switch. Still plenty of room in there as well, could even still fit an 80mm thick 420 rad in the roof

Lets see how many people still defend the Shinobi XL after seeing this

nice modding but imho way overkill when a 360 and 240 rads would do the same look forward to more.

Thanks for the replies !!

Yeah, NZXT Said "no no, the front cannot fit a radiator in it, that is what the bottom is for" well i say "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED" The holes for the rad do not line up, so i will have to dremel in some notches so that it is not only screwed in by the bottom fan mount

Case will look better with a rad in the top, and the gpu's in too, then i will add the green dye, and my cathodes too

and S_I_N, i go for the awesome/overkill look

That 120 rad is doing nothing for you in that loop except making it look like a n00b rig....

Thanks for your thoughts Tom,

will see how it looks with the 420 rad up the top, only had the 120mm in it to make the loop look nicer atm,

I may take it out once my Phobya 420 comes, will see if it looks any better

Right, an update !!

got my 420 rad, and of course, no one can make a perfect case, NZXT didn't even put correct spacing for a 420 rad, so i had to use my dremel, and make some notches, now i can slide it backwards and forwards, as it is tight as a hoe at the back of the case from where to rad hits the back mesh, but due to my sliders, all is well

HDD, and SSD are velcrowed to the bottom, this is because my fan controller will be going in the one and only 5.25" bay, cos again NZXT didnt include one of them like they did with the Phantom, why would i want all my fans at 100% NZXT? *sigh* :fail:

All cable's are in the process being sleeved, and also my Pump is now velcrowed in, so that is not hanging by a crystal link,

Am in discussion with a bloke about getting a Z68 G1 Sniper board, so hopefully i can get that as it will fit my theme even more !!

Bitfenix 140mm fans should be here soon hopefully,

GTX680 has been ordered from CL, now i must wait for the blocks to arrive in NZ

The 5.25" bay has been cut down, and now running parallel to the angle of the window, so that it looks nicer,

.. i think that is all i need to say? will get pics soon when more is done

-- the current gpu is a 9600GT, so that is why the cables are not yet in place properly

(tried sleeping, but got bored so decided to do some sleeving)

When sleeving goes wrong:

never have your thumb over the cable you are pulling out

will post back once all my items arrive to put in this beast !! eg the gpu and fans for the top rad

Looks great with the braiding and green coolant. Really matches quite nice.

Is there a G1 Gigabyte board in your future perhaps to top it all off?

Yeah thanks man

just has a few drops of green, as it will get ripped apart to house the GTX680 then i will drop more coolant in to match the colour of braiding
smile.png

bro, honestly. If i could find a G1 board, my life would be complete, i cannot find a Z68 G1 Sniper for the life of me

THANKS

Wonder if they will ship overseas? as i do live in New Zealand :B

EDIT; Doh, they dont ship outside of UK
