Normal or NAS grade HDD?

Hey guys, I'm in the process of choosing parts for my upcoming budget HTPC, and wondered if the extra money spent on a NAS grade HDD is really worth it.
I'm specifically looking at a Seagate Barracuda and a WD Red; both 1TB versions. The WD Red is £12/€15/$17 more expensive than the Barracuda (at £45/€56/$63).
It's not gonna be running 24/7 as a home server; it's only gonna be on, when we want to watch movies/shows or do some couch gaming.
Please do probe me for more info if it's needed :D Thanks in advance.

I'd personally look at the reds as they're designed to cope with NAS workloads. The Seagate Baracuda is more of a WD blue/green competitor. The equivalent seagate is the Seagate NAS drive.

I have been using a Seagate Nas Drive and a WD Red drive since 2.5years now in my Nas and both have seen over approximately 250tb of data written to them. None of them have dropped in performance or got loud or whatever. So I'd say get what fits your wallet the most. Maybe you can catch a good deal.

Thanks for the answers :) I think I'm gonna go with a WD Red for the extra reliability if nothing else. It does spin at a lower RPM (5400 vs 7200), but if it's going to last longer without errors and run cooler and more quiet, it should be a worthy trade-off, right?
