Noctua NH D14 + 2500K Temps

Hey, Basically I got the 2500K a few weeks ago, Now I've noticed that the temps are rather high (imo), i'm seeing temps ranging from 47c to 52c in games, now that's with the D14 fans on max, case fans on max too. Isn't that a bit high for a stock 2500K? I used to get those temps with my Phenom X6 @ 3.9ghz.

I've tried reseating the cooler, changed the thermal paste from MX3 to the Noctua stuff and its not made any difference, maybe 1 or 2c at the max, are these temps normal?

Thanks

nope those are decent temps for a load on the cores. I believe ur safe up into the 70c range with the 2500K

You need to remember the AMD temps are always silly low, maybe thats why they are also so slow

Those temps look fine dude, "auto" volts maybe still giving it the same volts that your cpu may need for an overclock anyways. Volts create the heat more than anything else.

Aye ^ +10.

My Phenom 2 X4 940 would MAX at 55 before rebooting the PC lol. It wasn't due to a thermal limit I put on, but that was right where the chip would reboot the PC and BSOD.

Going to I7 sure was a shock

You must have been sweating so much when that happened, and saw those i7 temps

Actually for me it was the same, stock temps used to go up to around 55 or even 60 depending what I was running at stock, and now temps go up to 60max running the Torture tests with Prime95 with 4.4GHz constant at 1.336V

I actually remounted the cooler tbh thinking I'd messed something up. But yeah, insane temps. Idle are not bad though, 41-38-41-38 on a 950 (it's not OC tho, too hot in here in summer) and in honesty a H50 on my Phenom 2 was 42 idle. Which is a bit cack really, considering the I7 can go into the upper 80s

i'm getting around 48°C in games with the ulna adapters and case fans on low on my 2600k. dunno if your chip is a bit hot or if i got a little lucky this time around.

Is that at stock or overclocked? if that is with an overclock you defiantly got lucky, especially if you have hyper threading enabled as well.
