Morning All,
I'm really scratching my head here on an issue I got with my 9900k on a Maximus X Hero and H110i.
I haven't really been doing anything on my PC for a good few months now, I mostly remote into it from the office and run some VM's in Workstation which never puts it under stress.
Anyway, on Friday night I installed the new Cinebench after spotting the thread here with everybody's benchmarks, my first run BSOD'd WHEA Errors and I noticed temps hit over 100c almost instantly. I pulled the PC from under my desk an noticed quite a bit of dust in the rad so I got the Dyson on it and gave it a good clean, I also took of the waterblock and reapplied a fresh coat of thermal paste (Noctua NT-H1 - Not sure how old this tube is).
After putting back on the block and putting the PC back under my desk I dialled in a manual overclock 1.275v vcore with LLC 6 and set all cores to 5ghz and booted to windows, all is good and I ran a few cinebenchs, temps never exceeded low 90s.
A day later I am gaming Project Cars 2, ACE Combat and I can hear my fans ramping up to max, CPU is in the 70s which is not normal when gaming. I tried a cinebench run and BSOD again with temps hitting the 100s almost straight away.
So I set the bios to stock again and tried cinebench again, temps are now hitting hight 90s at stock instantly.
The way the temp hits high 90s is making me think that there is an issue with either the Thermal paste or my H110i pump.
iCue is showing pump doing its job spinng above 3000rpm and a water temp of in the 30s.
Any Ideas what the issue coud be ?
Things tried so far :
1) Clean Rad and reapply thermal paste - Fixed the issue for a few hours
2) Bios Flashback & stock settings - Still High temps
3) Ordered some Konductanaut on Amazon Prime will arrive tonight - will report back
Notes :
Vid seems very high -
