No idea which AiO cooler to choose.

Hi folks,

I'm searching for a new watercooling system. I have a Corsair Carbide 500R case, so compatibility is a non issue.

So I already bought a twin pack of SP120 fans (known for being great in radiators), 'cause I was planning on buying a watercooling with 2x 120mm fans. But that's when the Corsair H110 came in, now I'm in doubt.

So the H110 is one of the watercoolers I'm thinking about, the others are the Corsair H100i or the Swiftech H220 (which are both compatible with the SP120s). Now, the last one is out of stock almost everywhere, and 30 euro's more expensive than the Corsairs.

So, primarily I'm thinking about the H110, but, will the SP120s be good for like, the front of the case or so?

And what are your opinions on these coolers?

Thanks!

I use a H100i and i can say it's fantastic if you purchase one you will not be disappointed, it will keep your Cpu nice and cool.

H100 will be much better in the long run matey tbh, the Link stuff is quite good and I deffo prefer the look of the H100i over the H110

Just keep in mind if you use the SP120's connected direct to the H100i the fan controller stuff isnt as effective as the stock fans. If you use aftermarket fans its best to set the fan speed static direct to your PSU and use fan speed reducers if you want to make it quieter.

I've just completed a Haswell build in a 500r with an h100i in the roof (using the stock fans running off of the motherboard rather than through corsair link - which I've found to be a bit gimicky and not very useful).

It is a great match. If you are only planning on cooling the CPU then I think a top of the line AIO like the H100i is brilliant rather than going custom *unless you really want to*. If you already have sp120s then it makes sense to get the h100i since they fit together nicely.

A larger radiator might not make any difference to your temperatures anyway depending on what you are cooling. If it's an Ivy or Haswell chip you'll be limited by lithography before radiator area.

The new 45mm thick Silverstone AIOs are out now Io think might be worth waiting to see what they are like compared to the H100.

Doubt those will fit in a 500r tbh.

H100i gets my vote. You've got some good fans with them and there aren't an awful lot of pressure optimized 140mm fans out there (besides it would only cost more).

Thanks for all your great replies. The h100i, it will most probably be! (unless something really great pops up)

@Master&Puppet, so you build it with a Haswell CPU. What are your temperatures with the H100i? I'm running on a i7-3770k, so that should be about the same heat producing as the haswell.

Haswell is around 10C hotter than Ivy because the voltage regulation has now been integrated into the chip (iVR).

This one I did is delidded and running at 1.33v/4.6GHz. Max temp I've squeezed out of it in stress testing (AIDA64 FPU Mandel) was about 72. Without delidding you'll hit uncomfortable teps with quite a bit less, around 1.275v ish.
