no 5.1 sound on Windows 7

hey guys i got a little problem here whenever i set it to 5.1 speakers it only sees 2 speakers but all 5 all connected to the sub and the sub with all the 3 plugs is connected to the X-Fi Sound when i do a test sound i hear sound coming out from all 5 speakers but the X-Fi Control panel wont let me use all 5 speakers so iam running at 2.1 now but i do want my 5.1 back

Hmm. Vista has this chestnut at times depending on how and which soundcard drivers are installed, regarding UAC at the time of install and running/saving config without administrator rights.

I'd try installing with full system rights and try other versions of the drivers. I'm imagining Win7 would do it a similar way to Vista.
