Next Comp - Forum Only?

I don't see how it can be more evil but still sounds good to me.

I'm really keen on seeing how evil Tom can get with this. Or maybe i don't wanna know lol

I really like this idea. It rewards the current forum users and members of teams on OC3D. Making it more difficult should also be fun. My only suggestion would be to let the mod team in on it so we can relish everyone's frustration.

Tom wont do that Blah haha, took me 3 days to find the pic from the other one and i cant even enter, then tom went and told me 10 mins later. I still have that satisfaction though

But very good idea Tom will keep the ones that scour the forum regularly interested

I'm just dying for something creative XD - this looking one is making me rake my eyes and scratch my head at how peeps are goin "just did google...found in seconds" but shant give up till its found, over or dead

I say go for it Tom to be fair you gave far to many hints for the GTX treasure hunt and every one still continues to moan. If its a forum only thing then at least you'll know you won't get silly questions or beggars wanting you to show them the way.

get like 100 different website and put riddles on each one to find the next website and at the end they need to send you the link to the last website should be easy right?

Has there ever been a community giveaway? Meaning that every one would give 1€ in to the lot and with that amount there would be a price in the end. And to make it really interesting for every 100€ collected Tom would have to grow a beard for a one week. time to take part would be two weeks, one entry per person, entry by donating 1€ to the lot.
Anyone?
Tweaking ideas?

Personally, I'd like to see one just for people who have contributed a significant amount to the forums, like they sometimes do on Overclock.net.

So maybe members with 1000+ posts and Mods only?

I know that would disqualify me, but I always feel guilty when I enter the compos that I don't really deserve to win anyway >_<

Join date and overall activity would be a smarter option over just pure post count. Otherwise new N00Bs will just start posting stupid shit.

Quality over quantity, as they say.

No need to feel guilty entering when it's open for you to enter. If whoever runs the comp wants to put restrictions in place then fair enough.

Those competitions are supposed to attract new people. that's why you have to register to enter the competition.

Thats true enough, but where would you put the cut off date for that? I mean, you've only been on here for less than a year yet your post count is almost 2500.

And conversely, people who might have joined last year around the same time as you, when the 2012 compo was on but then left could still post aload of random bollocks and yet still be as eligible as you :p

Well I'd still feel bad if I won. I have been watching OC3DTV since late 2010, but for the amount and quality of content OC3D puts out, a couple of clicks hardly feels like it qualifies me. Anyway I was glad to see that last years big prizes went mainly to forum contributors :)

And most of the people join, post a few times then bog off till the next compo Lol (guilty as charged)

In any case, its up to TTL to decide, and his judgement tends to be spot on on these sorts of things, I was just adding my 2p :p

1000 posts! I've spent HOURS on here since I joined and I'm way of 1000 posts. Think of all the actual reading you do on here as well, not just posting. But yeah if newbies are counted then they will just rack up their count by posting replies to everything.
