I am in desperate need of the above, well not so much a keyboard but definatly a new mouse and mat as my current logitech cordless has pretty much packed in as I dropped it and now it has very high latencys so it has to go.

Anyway I have been looking at the following mice:

Logitech G7

Logitech G5

Razer Copperhead

Razer Diamondback

I am not sure if I will be able to get used to corded again after being cordless for nearly 2 years thats why i stuck the Logitech G7 on the list.

As mentioned I would also like a new mouse mat and a keyboard.

Any reccomendations would be helpful.

Thanks, Sam

Is the G5 ok with the Icemat?

I have the Icemat and I'm thinking of getting the G5 if its ok with the mousemat.

btw I requested the G5 to be on "Today Only" on SCAN so look out there this week :)

Its on this week only at overclockers ;)

Rather get it from SCAN so I don't have to pay the RIDICULOUS minimum postage of £8 that OCUK feel they need to put on everything ;)

I thought there was a problem with one of the Logitech's and the Icemat? Swear i saw it somewhere....Kustompcs maybe

Whats your surface liek mate? I didn't use a mat for a while on my electronics lab desk (its all anti static surfaced) my dad 'aquierd' from work and it was ok.

Now i use a cut up bit of ring binder that llwyd gave to me under the pretence its the best mousemat ever....

But yeah, depends on the surface.

Also, sam, do you rob banks or somthing?

i use my mx518 on my table or just some crappy free mouse mat from barclays bank. i thought the ice-mat was laser compatible? maybe im wrong but i heard they were decent. One of my mates got a g15 but he got really ****ed off with it and returned it... something kept going wrong with it. if u dont fancy shelling out tons for the keyboard get that saitek eclipse, read fairy decent reviews on it.

Sorry to say mate but that is the ugliest mouse going! My mate has one and it's just terrible. Weren't you on about Csing left handed, how the hell would that work with that mouse?? :eh:

I have my Razer diamondback on some Steelpad thingy. Seems to work . I've heard a razer mouse on the exactmat is nice n smooth, my local store do some deals on Razer mice: http://www.theredhotgroup.com/

And I think this is what Jim was thinkin of about what mice goes with what pad: http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/Article___Mouse___Mat_Roundup.html

My opinion: go with razer - nice, light, sharp, and stylish mice, however different mice suit different hand shapes, so if possible test em out somewhere first. Hope you find one that suits you mate :D

I loved my Copperhead (past tense since the laser died within 3 months  I requested an RMA but I'm so lazy I haven't sent it in yet. mine is probably an isolated case so you shouldn't have to worry about yours (if you get it) dying. Razer has some nice CS though :)) BTW, I used my Copperhead on a basic mousebad that we got at Circus Circus. It's cloth and all yellow and white and crap :p

Just a regular old particle-board desk w/glued on laminate top that you can get at any local Wal-Mart, Office Max, Office Depot, Staples, etc.

I got this partictular desk from Wal Mart, with a matching Bookcase for $66. Great desk, imo. Fairly sturdy, all aluminum/particle board, and very large. Can't beat the value either.

Only con is the mouse & keyboard are on seperate levels :(.

I stay strong on my recommendations, if you like wireless get the G7, wired G5 ;) Razer can go suck the **** they have been already ;)

Ive got the Razer diamond back here and its not a bad mouse. Personally for me its a touch too small but it is nice and accurate when you use it on the exact mat.

Dont forget that Specialtech are doing some offers so might be worth doing a comparison on mice prices and grabbing a bargain from them
