new motherboard

I am looking to get a new motherboard to replace my failing asus MAXIMUS VI HERO what do you recommend I replace it with. It only has to last till when skylake comes out. I am looking at Gigabite 97 or MSI 97.
my specs are i7 4770
asus maximus vi hero
cooler master cm storm trooper
g.skill ripjaw 2X8gb sticks ddr3
thermaltake water 3.0 extreme
corsair rm 750 power
ASUS Strix GeForce GTX 980
asus xonar phoebus sound card
wd 3t black
samsung 840 pro 128gb
Samsung 850 EVO Series 2.5" 7mm 250GB SSD

MSI Z97-G43 should have you covered until skylake launches. [I would also recommend taking a look at the asrock boards, should be cheaper]

or you could get one of the Gigabyte gaming black editions and get your free upgrade to the skylake model when they come out.

Don't the enthusiast (gaming) models take longer to come out historically for the new CPUs?

There's the ASUS H97 Pro-Gamer. I think that Wraithguard can confirm that the motherboard is a solid performer
