IMO the Maximus V is overrated and overpriced, but for AMD its the best board you can get. What I would do (and did) is switch to intel, get a 3570k and NOT get the Maximus V. The MSI Z77A-GD65 is an excellent mobo without the rediculous pricetag.
It appears you are planning to keep using the same cpu that you already have, which is the only logical reason for staying with AMD. Otherwise, if you were going to upgrade CPU to something like the 8350 and still getting the Maximus V, you would be wasting your time and money
In Australia, the Maximus V is over $300, while the Z77A-GD65 is only $179. If you were considering going to the FX8350, which is $219 here, the Intel i7 3770K is $332.
The difference: Going to a cheaper intel board more than pays for the upgrade to the 3770k which absolutely smokes the heck out of anything AMD makes. Once you consider the far lower power consumption intel chips need.... The switch will pay for itself in a years time.
I have to wonder though: If you have such an economy priced CPU what is the logic of getting the top-of-the line AMD mobo? Getting a top-of -the-line mobo only makes sense if you have a top-of-the-line CPU to put in it. Gettingthe very best AMD board only makes sense if you plan to run the very best AMD cpu. And if you are going to pay for both a new CPU and an mobo, get the performance youre paying for: Switch to Intel 3770k
If youre going to run a $119 cpu, why not put it in a $119 mobo and spend those extra hundreds on drives, or ram, or case, or cooler. Anything else is just illogical.
I went through this very same argument with myself about 6 weeks ago. I made the switch 2 weeks ago. My room is about 30 degrees cooler because of it.
Seriously consider the fact that if you are thinking about an upgrade, its because you arent really happy with a slow cpu. The new motherbooard wont change the fact that its a really slow cpu, which means upgrading that too. Then you have to look at the logic of sticking with AMD and still having a crappy cpu (even if its their best one) when you could have something that smokes it for the same money.
Read the charts in Toms review of the 8350, which stomps on your 4100.

before you consider getting the Maximus V
btw: nice case but no side window
