New cpu, slow operating system

So I got my 3570k today, installed it and everything works fine but I am finding that everything seems to be very slow, windows takes 20-30 seconds extra to boot up and logging in takes a lot longer, and then when I do log on it takes ages for the computer to be use able and then after that everything just seems a bit sluggish and slow.

Is this normal? I know a fresh install would fix this but I didn't think you usually had to do a fresh install with a new cpu?

Maybe try uninstalling the cpu with device manager and rebooting?

My OS has been a bit slow lately anyway, I think a fresh install would be best thanks for the advice guys
