CPU and 2 GPUs on 2x 240mm rads? You could do with modding the case to put a 360 in the roof.

Also, you can't use mayhems pastel for a 24/7 rig. That coolant's just for show rigs. Go for Mayhems X1, or XSPC stuff - well, pretty much anything other than Mayhems pastel really...

Not too sure on the purpose of the valve really? Not really any need for it in a rig like this.

I thought it was the Aurora'' that wasn't for 24/7 use? and the valve is to have to add a drain to the system. also i don't want to loose the handle so i don't want to mod the roof.

(240 * 120 + 280 * 140) / (120^2) = 4.72

Depending on what version you get, a GTX660 Ti will pull ~150 W.

I have seen people cooling two 580's (~250 W) and an OC'd CPU on one 480 radiator,
so you could probably get away with it. The XT45 performs slightly better at lower fan
speeds than the UT60 (link), so you more or less have 4.72 120 radiators in here.

However, I do think you'll probably won't be able to turn down your fans too low and
would require at least some medium rpm's (depending on what kind of temps you are
willing to tolerate).

So: It's feasible imho, but if you can squeeze in more radiator surface, that won't
be overkill either.

Both pastel and aurora really.

+1.

2x 240's would meet my requirements. IMHO get creative or change the case. Youll spend loads of money and it will be "meh" other wise.

Also dont use 120mm rads as suggested above, they look horrid and just make the rig messy.

I didn't suggest using 120 rads, I was talking about the equivalent radiator surface you would
get with 1 x 280 and 1 x 240, which equals to ~4.72 single 120 radiators, or one ~ 567 mm
radiator in 120 mm width.

Apologies if that was a bit unclear.

Pastel is fine for 24/7 with that tubing is what I've heard.

I think translucent coolants look better anyway though. I would use XT-1 with blue + purple dye

thx Tom I plan on getting a caselabs case next year. and go all out. Now i just have to get different coolant.xspc or primochill. decisions decisions

Just wanted to thank everone for helping me on my 1st Water cool system a bit nervous but with this great community i am getting the advice i need to take that fist step.

Haha, don't worry too much, it's really not rocket science.

Once you have all the bits and bobs before you it will look much less intimidating (at least
it was like that for me back when I started out). Of course there is lots of care to be taken and
attention to be paid, but as long as you don't cock up too badly you should be fine (meaning
as long as you don't have any leaks and all the blocks are seated properly, primarily ;)).

well if it is the first, then i'd suggest a starter kit and do just the CPU. it doesn't
have to be 1st place on the first go. get the rad it, mount the block and route
the tubing and 'speriment. if you are going for a CaseLabs next year, then small
loop usage now will help knowledge on who/what/why of h2o cooling.

outta the box noobs will always have issues and have monster money tied up and
get discouraged over the whole ordeal.

And that's the quote of the day :rollinglaugh:

Seriously though: deano is right. It doesn't have to be perfect on the first go, just keep it
simple and tinker around with it to get a feel for the tech. That will teach you more than
reading recommendations and opinions ever could. Then take it from there.

so I appreciate all the great advice, so i decided to try and keep it simple and just do the cpu for my 1st build, i still might do the gpu's just depends on the money and if i feel comfortable doing them. luckly i have a friend thats going to help me build this.so here is the final parts i am about to purchase.

I think that should work. I really like that reservoir with the alu housing for the pump, looks bauce :)

Two questions:
  • What fans are you intending to run on the radiator?
  • Are you sure you need the quick disconnects? They're expensive as hell afaik.

I can't comment on whether or not the radiator will fit into the case atm, but I'm sure you've done
your research on that. ;)

Cougar Dual-X 140mm LED Case Fan or Noctua's NF-P14. and yes i want the quick disconnects to have a easy way to drain the system . the case can fit either a 240 or 280 at the top of the case i can use the 60mm thick rad as long as i put the fans in a pull config.

The Cougar fans are pretty good from what I've heard. The NF-P14 is actually discontinued (plus it
did not have a square frame, but a round one instead), you might want to take a look at one of
these three:

Personally I'd recommend the FLX or the PWM, the ULN is more or less just a weaker version
of the FLX afaik and doesn't push all that much air.

okay , I have decided not to wait until next year for the caselabs case, and i decided since i'm getting the case this year i might as well go big with the WC set up go big or go home. So i decided to start buying the parts now, it will take me a few months but this is my dream build.

why are you mixing fan sizes on radiators? why not buy one size and regulate
from that.
Tom was quite well on 2x 240 (60mm) and now you are at 420/360 and (two dyes?).
as for fittings, it'll be crap-shoot on what to get till the rig is mocked up and
almost final in positioning, then fittings are ordered. you'll get to play shipping
tag with PerfPC adding and subtracting what you need and what you really need..

what do you have now?

sorry bro i will have to start a new thread, going to Oder my new case caselabs merlin. all new build gonna sell my current system and build me a new one.
