Im building a New System for BF3 and 3d Modelling, but im running into a small road block. Im looking to build within the next few weeks I dont have time to wait for Ivy or BD Testing (Not that AMD was considered). The problem Im having is choosing a CPU/ Socket, Im looking at building a system with a 970 1366 but I haven't been able to find enough information if the cost difference between the 970 or 25-2600k is worth it.

I need a bit of insight, Would triple channel (12GB) over Dual matter (8GB)? Do the extra 2 Cores in the 970 make it a better option for rendering? Budget is sitting around 1800 if that matters.

Any extra information that can be given to make my decisions easier is always welcome.

Could you wait for Sandy Bridge-E? said to be launched around 15th of Novemeber. Has quad channel memory, and should rock the socks off the 970

Here you can compare the 980x against 2600k and decide for yourself: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4083/...core-i7-2600k-i5-2500k-core-i3-2100-tested/17

I could wait till around the 15th the system doesn't need to be complete until early December. Is there any confirmed info on the Sandy-E? anything new is worth a look.
